On the 23rd of December, Santa Claus was taking a nice stroll in the North Pole, when suddenly he started coughing, wheezing and sneezing a lot. Santa had a tough time going back to his workshop.
He sat down on the couch with a blanket wrapped around him. Mrs. Claus took good care of Santa and also bought him the necessary medication so that he could be well soon. Santa was now getting worried, how was he to deliver the presents. Mrs. Claus gave Santa strict instructions to stay at home and enjoy her peppermint hot chocolate. Santa reassured her that he would be just fine and was indisposed. After listening to Mrs. Claus constantly nag about his health, he decided to send a letter to everyone to let them know that he won’t be able to deliver the presents. Mrs. Claus put a letter in every mailbox and came back home. The people read the letter and were devastated. But, someone in the north pole had an idea to make ‘get well soon’ cards for Santa because he has done a lot for them over the years. They collected hot food for him and delivered it at his doorstep. People started doing that and slowly, everyone made cards, food, and gifts. Some men decided to create a new sleigh for Santa because his old one had been in use for a little too long. Santa was very happy to get so much support from the people. On Christmas, when Santa got up from bed and opened all his presents, he was very pleased at the thought of a new sleigh.
A few hours later came an elf, saying that Santa was very pleased with all the gifts everyone sent him and wanted this tradition to keep going. So, he invented the game Secret Santa where they give gifts to each other to keep them happy without actually knowing from who it was from. This was the best Christmas everyone had!
