Dear Covid

Written By Dharini Karwa (Grade 9)

People were ecstatic,
People were joyful,
People were free,
Each person was euphoric before you.

When you’d arrived,
When you’d shaken us,
When you’d trembled us,
That was the time when you’d hit us.

The stress around,
The emotions around,
The tears around,
All the things because you’d shattered us.

Loss of loved ones,
Loss of shelter,
Loss of essentials,
Could we even bear the loss?
Because you’d ruined us.

Did you realize the harm, you’d caused?
Did you realize the distress, you’d caused?
Did you?  No, you didn’t.

That is why you’d done this.
