The Rain Takes Away My Regrets

Written By Suhani Khemka (Grade 10)

I walked through the inclement night,
The rain drops hitting the ground,
Producing a pleasing musical sound,
One that fills me with delight,
I walked through the inclement night.

The dogs barked, the owls hooted,
The beauty of the tress remained undiluted,
The grim road lit by the moon light,
I walked through the inclement night,

I let the wind carry away my regrets,
I felt free of all threats,
My head felt light, my eyes were bright,
I walked through the inclement night,

I could finally let go of the past,
I put my wounds in a cast,
So they could finally heal right,
I walked through the inclement night.
