Who Am I?

Written By Sumati Varma (Grade 9)

You don’t really know me,

You just see the person I pretend to be,

The world I face is unexplainable,

Everyone explains but true love for me isn’t obtainable.

No one realises that I am still a child,

Because even when everyone hurt me, I pretended to be okay and smiled,

Behind it all I have lost who I was,

I no longer have a purpose, I not longer have a cause.

I only live to survive,

Internally I am no longer alive,

I have lost all that I ever felt,

In this heartbreaking world I have had enough of what I’ve dealt.

Hi, I’m Sumati Varma and I’m a 14 year old ambivert. I have a soft spot when it comes to art, especially poetry and highly respect authors. My poetry usually comes from the darker, deeper aspect of life. My thought process and writings come from people who are suffering or are in pain but can’t find the words to express themselves. So I thought maybe I can do it for them.
