Enjoying the beautiful elements of Mother Nature makes us feel thankful for her wonderful creations and kindness. Just as we use our minds to solve our problems, nature itself is the best way to cure problems. Nature’s creations make us feel speechless and awestruck. She is not just a provider; she is a caring mother. Nature’s little elements bring us happiness and make us spread that happiness to others.
Though there are many creations of Mother Nature, what I look up to most is the ravishing phenomenon, ‘Aurora Borealis’. The Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, are one of the most beautiful natural phenomena in the world. Its
Captivating colours and patterns mesmerise us to adore it. It’s not just a scientific wonder, but a beautiful creation of Mother Nature. When you are drawn to nature, there is no denying this spectacular element. Its beauty spreads far and wide and is intriguing to us humans to see its breath-taking view. The nature should be appreciated for this phenomenon. The Aurora’s colours are quite beautiful and attractive. Few countries to visit to get mesmerised by this beauty are Northern Canada, Alaska, and Greenland.
Today we know the science behind the Aurora Borealis, but our ancestors didn’t know and gazed up on the swirling colours of green, red, and purple—flickering without knowing the reason for its occurrence. It is a natural light display that shimmers in the night sky. The name Aurora Borealis was named by the scientist Galileo Galilei. The word origin of Aurora is from the name of the Roman goddess of dawn, Aurora, and Borealis, the Greek god of the North Wind. In simple words, Auroras appear when tiny particles stream out from the sun and hit Earth’s atmosphere.
The Aurora Borealis happens on the North Pole and Aurora Australias on the South Pole. Auroras are not just found on Earth; they are also found on other planets except Mercury, with different alluring colours and variations. It looks like rivers of different colours. Auroras inspire curiosity in human minds throughout the time.
People’s descriptions of Aurora are found in writings and folklore of many cultures across history. Long back, the North Americans believed that the Aurora was the souls of departed ancestors. They even thought that the lights were the spirits of the animals they hunted. The Eskimo tribes believed that they could summon the Aurora to converse with their dead relatives.
My ultimate aim is to get a glimpse of Aurora Borealis and enjoy its beauty. As young children, our motto is to be kind and helpful to others, just like Mother Nature.
Nature inspires us the most and makes us feel thankful for what we have. Nowadays nature is shrinking as trees are being cut, destruction caused by forest fires, and the usage of plastic. After all, we are wasting the precious resources. We can maintain balance in nature by following the 3 R’s: reduce, reuse, and recycle.
