Our nature is brimming with natural marvels. Great glistening lakes, mountainous amphitheater and vibrant grasslands are some sights to relish. One such marvel is a pearl. Have you ever seen a pearl necklace; how beautiful it looks? I could not stop admiring the beautiful pink pearl earing my mother inherited from her maternal grandmother. It was so shiny, attractive, and expensive.
Pearls are not just attractive and eye catching, they are also unique. You know they are created by a living animal unlike other gemstones that are mined from under the earth. When an irritant like coral, large grit or bead enters an oyster the mollusks cover the intruder forming a pearl. Though the process is lengthy, the outcome is pleasure to the eyes. This process inspires me because a pearl teaches me to become beautiful through pain and perseverance. A pearl sets the example of how precious the result can be if it is achieved though dedication and deep diving. Oyster divers may take years to find a pearl and this is what makes them rare. My mother told me Oyster- is generally unattractive. Darkish, dappled an uneven shell but do you know what lies deep inside it? Purity, radiance and beauty is what lies in its heart. We humans are similar too. We might look unattractive and dark but we all have a distinct beauty within us. Every pearl is different. Different in colour and size yet each one is unique. So are we, different from each other yet unique in our own way. Naturally formed blue pearl is the rarest pearl. The colour blue bring peace and tranquility. Pearls are not only nature’s one of the most marvelous creations but they give valuable life lessons too.
Seeing my fascination with this beauty of nature my mother has ordered white pearl bracelet for me, she plans to gift it to me on my thirteenth birthday. White pearl represents new beginning and beauty. She says as I start my teenage journey this bracelet will be perfect to keep me calm and mark a new chapter in my life. I can’t wait to own this lustrous and timeless elegance created by nature. As beautiful the pearls are, they are delicate too and need more specialised care than most other gem.
