“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones that we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” – Barack Obama
Barack Obama was an ex-politician, writer, lawyer, and the first African-American President of the United States of America. He held office as the 44th President, from 2009 to 2017.
He was known for several notable regulations, such as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and he established the Affordable Care Unit Act, popularly noted as ‘Obamacare’.
After his schooling, he enrolled in Occidental College, where he gave his first public speech. He later shifted to Columbia University and graduated with a degree in English Literature and Political Science. Later, he was admitted to Harvard Law School, where he became the first black president of the Harvard Law Review. Subsequently, he penned his first book, Dreams of My Father. Before working as a president, he initiated his political career as an associate of the Illinois State Centre. Later, he became a US Senator in 2005. During this time, he also authored his second book, The Audacity of Hope. In 2007, Obama won against his opposition of Hilary Clinton, in the Democratic Party presidential primaries. Within the first 100 days of serving in office, Obama proposed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2001, an enactment intended to confront and alleviate the worst effects of the Great Recession of 2008. In March 2010, Obama devised the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which was contrived to make sure that every American could get health insurance at reduced costs. On May 11, 2011, Obama successfully led Operation Neptune Spear, in Pakistan, which endeavoured to eliminate Osama Bin Laden. During his second term of presidency, he inaugurated discussions with Iran, which eventually led to a nuclear deal with the Middle Eastern country. In 2012, Obama signed several executive orders that strived to minimise gun violence, after the mass shooting at Sandy Hooks Elementary School in December 2012.
If I were to step into his shoes, what would I do differently?
I would resolve social issues by promoting gender equality and encouraging women to enter the workforce and implementing several reforms to prevent the harassment of women, preventing the stereotyping of women, the poor, the property-less, and the uneducated by introducing several programs and passing reforms that concentrate on the betterment and for backing the need to follow all human rights to combat this issue.
I would advocate for better healthcare by introducing reforms for constructing more healthcare facilities and for the development and installation of cutting-edge technology to aid in several medical procedures, including surgery.
I would spread awareness about the importance of conservation of the environment by implementing reforms to reduce plastic pollution, designing cheaper, electric engines, advocating the usage of bio-degradable products, banning the mining and burning of coal in the country, as coal is highly polluting and cancerous.
I would aim to increase the development in the financial sector by ensuring that there are no fluctuations in the stock markets and that all stock markets receive positive outcomes by preventing market volatility and decreasing interest rates and slowing down or possibly stopping the inflation of the US dollar by implementing reforms to increase bond funds.
I would try to stop the occurrence of war by not making the event of 9/11 as much of a threat to the world as it has been and preventing the International War on Terror by prudently eliminating Osama Bin Laden.
How would this impact my time in office and how would this change the course of History?
By promoting gender equality, I am equalising job and educational opportunities of both men and women, and that we are extending the contribution of the economy of this nation among women. By preventing the harassment of women, I am making the lives of the affected better. By preventing the stereotyping of women, the poor, the property-less, and the uneducated, I am giving them better opportunities for their jobs and their education.
By implementing reforms that concentrate on human rights, I am effectively preventing discrimination among such people.
By introducing better healthcare facilities, I would ensure that people can trust the doctors even more. By investing in cutting edge technology, I would ensure that people are going to suffer far less diseases, and that people will start to live longer.
By executing reforms to reduce plastic pollution and by advocating the usage of bio-degradable products, I would ensure that animals and birds will not die of such toxic wastes anymore, and that our endangered species are protected. By designing cheaper, electric engines, I would reduce carbon dioxide emissions, which is game-changing for conserving our environment and boosting healthcare. By banning the mining and burning of coal in the country, I am boosting the life span of Americans by preventing lung cancer, as coal is highly polluting and cancerous.
By ensuring that there are no fluctuations in the stock markets and I am ensuring that stock predictions are always accurate and that the returns of people’s investments are always better. By promising that all stock markets receive positive outcomes, I am warranting that the returns of people’s investments are always positive on withdrawal. By slowing down the inflation of the US dollar, I am ensuring that this nation’s trading currency retains its value and never goes out of trend.
By not treating the 9/11 event as a global threat, I am ensuring that all other external nations are responding in the most discreet manner. By preventing the International War on Terror, I am working to minimise the security threat to this nation.
