The most infinite and efficient source of renewable energy, solar energy has emerged to become a crucial role in the renewable landscape of India.
India is the country with the fifth largest use of solar energy in the world, making solar energy abundant and sustainable in our country.
Solar energy does not release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and does not cause carbon footprint either, thus making it a 100% clean source. Additionally, the use of fossil fuels can be reduced if we use solar energy, taking a toll on our environment. A process known as net metering allows people to sell excess electricity their panels generate back to the utility company, reducing the utility bills even further. Solar energy is a type of energy which does not cause noise pollution. The generation process is completely silent. The prices of solar panels and energy have been made cost-effective as well. It increases affordability and even more available.
Despite these undeniable benefits, there are also reasons why we should avoid solar energy. Even though the cost of solar energy has decreased the over the past ten years, a complete solar installation still requires significant investment. A lot of place is required for the solar panels and wiring. Residential places which are small makes it especially difficult to place these panels. Sunlight may be unlimited, but the materials required to make solar panels are not. The availability of the materials required to produce solar products may not be sufficient to meet future demand and the options for mining these materials can have a significant environmental impact.
Cases like these can be weighed out by implementing more recycling steps. We have started to take more precautions by implementing recycling ourselves and spreading awareness. Solar panels are also 90% recyclable, meaning that we can recycle solar panels as well.
Solar energy has become a topic of major discussion worldwide due to the rising threats of global warming. As we harness the sun’s free energy, we will greatly reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.
Many scientists agree that by 2030, solar energy will become the world’s leading form of renewable energy, predicted to reach 30% of the account of electricity by 2030 as well.
We have also advanced to electric cars that are powered by solar converted to electrical energy. Sound pollution is another major issue that can be found in today’s society. Moving toward solar electric powered vehicles will help minimize sound pollution.
This is just the beginning of what and how solar energy could affect our lives in so many ways. “Be part of the solution, not the pollution.” Let us embrace our future and make the use of this valuable renewable energy we have been gifted with.
