Anxiety disorder is a mental health disorder characterized by feelings of worry, anxiety or fear that are strong enough to interfere with one’s daily activities. I want to talk about this mental health issue because it is very dangerous yet a common issue in India. More than 10 million cases per year have been identified by doctors and scientists. 

Signs and symptoms of anxiety disorders are usually self-diagnosable. It includes:

  • Feeling restless, wound-up, or on-edge
  • Being easily fatigued
  • Having difficulty concentrating
  • Being irritable
  • Having headaches, muscle aches, stomachaches, or unexplained pains
  • Difficulty controlling feelings of worry
  • Having sleep problems, such as difficulty falling or staying asleep

There are some types of anxiety disorders which are threatful and need to be cured:

  • Phobias are intense fears of specific animals, objects or situations
  • Generalized Anxiety
  • Panic Disorder
  • Social Anxiety Disorder
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Separation Anxiety Disorder

A person in our locality used to suffer from an anxiety disorder. He used to start feeling uncomfortable in a fraction of a second. Sweating, uneasiness and getting scared when someone touched him. People used to call him mad, no one was there to support him and then he decided he will cure himself. He researched across the internet and found the best doctors in the city who could help him and after a couple of months, he cured himself. Now every weekend he goes to the garden and plays cricket with the people of his locality. Thus, every mental health issue can be cured and there are treatments for anxiety disorders too. Eating well-balanced meals, getting enough sleep, taking deep breaths, exercising and limiting alcohol and caffeine can stop anxiety and curing anxiety disorders can be done through some therapies like cognitive behavioural therapy, meditation and psychotherapy. Some medications like SSRIs, anxiolytics, Antidepressants, Sedatives and nerve pain medication also help in curing mental health disorders.  

A person’s condition with regard to their psychological and emotional well-being is referred to as mental health. So a happy mind makes you happy so never be sad and doesn’t let negative thoughts enter your mind. The best way to throw out negative thoughts and let happy, peaceful thoughts enter your mind is meditation.
