“We are changing the world with technology”. A well know quote by Bill Gates.
Technology has become an essential part of our life. We have involved our lives with it so much. Through technology, we have achieved a lot of things to make this world a better place, but not to forget the extreme challenges we have faced to get there.
In this COVID-19 era, the technology related challenges for India is in the education system domain. As students are not able to go to schools/colleges, everything in education system has become online which includes classes, tests, examination, any interaction between the school and the students. The sudden shift of education system to online has brought in many difficulties.
Firstly, when it comes to internet connection not all students can afford it, even though they can afford they may be in some geographical area where the internet connection is very slow, making them miss important classes, or there could be an interruption in class due to it, this is not only a problem with students but teachers too face the same issue.
To add more to it many teachers are used to the regular traditional way of teaching and they are facing a lot of difficulties in getting adjusted to operate the online platform. The devices needed also is not affordable for everyone, the need for a reasonable number of devices per household is ongoing due to these online classes. Also, conducting tests/exams have become a big challenge in these online mediums.
To conclude, education system is falling apart due to it’s shift to online. There is a huge need to solve all these problems, since today’s children shape the future world, it plays a critical role to have a quality education even though there is a major shift.
