A Breath of Salty Air

Written By Ankita Srinivasan (Grade 10)

I was right there, standing on the shore,

With the tides rising and falling as a relentless chore.

Wave upon wave striking hard at the rocks,

The sun beams on water shimmering like golden crocks.

The wind blowing strong was salty and sweet,

Caressing my face like a wonderful treat.

I looked at the endless sea, unable to breath free,

For a marvellous sight had been bestowed just for me.

I walked along the shore, on the golden beach,

The stroll left me as content as eating a sweet peach.

The peace I felt was far above me,

So I just sat there and let it be.
