I See

Written By Sumati Varma (Grade 9)

I see myself, falling apart, every day,
I see each day,
getting a little more grey,
yet I stay,
and never say.

Stay in this world which I myself have created,
A world that makes me frustrated,
A world which I have always hated,
However, this world that I live in, can never be translated.

It cannot be translated because it exists within me,
It cannot be translated because I will never agree,
I will never agree to show everyone else that truly, I’m a nobody,
A nobody who isn’t even strong enough to face actuality.

So I see,
I see myself falling apart bit by bit,
And I sit,
Quietly taking the hit.

Hi, I’m Sumati Varma and I’m a 14 year old ambivert. I have a soft spot when it comes to art, especially poetry and highly respect authors. My poetry usually comes from the darker, deeper aspect of life. My thought process and writings come from people who are suffering or are in pain but can’t find the words to express themselves. So I thought maybe I can do it for them.
