The Farewell

Written By Yashvi Jalan (Grade 10)

As life gradually ebbed away,
Forgotten memories resurfaced,
As, I wantonly ended my last day.

The omniscient guided my way,
Family and relationships perished,
As life gradually ebbed away.

Regret stood as an obstacle on my way,
Millions of my dreams remained unfulfilled,
As, I wantonly ended my last day.

I became a deathly disease’s prey,
The unmatchable perks of a human life ended,
As life gradually ebbed away.

The relentless efforts and hearts that pray,
All stood futile and impractical,
As, I wantonly ended my last day.

A veracious realisation occurred my way,
Relish life for it will terminate any time.
As life gradually ebbed away,
As I wantonly ended my last day.
