The Mosaic that is India

Written By Shreya Bansal (Grade 9)

In a place which has almost everything
When you visit any time of the year,
If you forget all your problems and just have fun
You would say with me, “Paradise is here”.

Red Pandas and butterflies
And Kunchenjunga’s home,
Sikkim offers immeasurable beauty and
Always a journey to the unknown.

Singing and dancing is common here
During ‘Losar’ people forget their worries and rejoice,
A ritual in the forest is truly divine
Every rustle of the leaves has a voice.

With a festival in almost every month
Delhi too is an amazing place,
Where the culture is diverse, every person is unique
And historical art stares you in the face.

The heart of India is very fast paced
While Sikkim is relaxed and slow,
Blowing in the wind is culture in Delhi
And in Sikkim the mighty Teesta & Rangit flow.

Both states are truly rich in their own way
There is a lot of things they have to give,
The options are unlimited if you choose to explore
And to explore and discover is to live.
