The Teens in Lockdown

Written By Ayanna Raj (Grade 10)

Locked away while still a teen,
Away from the world, not to be seen.

With confusing things happening outside,
Should they risk it or should they hide?

The teens stayed locked up at home,
They were stuck there, with nowhere to roam.

Days, weeks and months passed,
It finally ended, at last

But will these teens then jump for joy?
For now, they’ve found a brand-new toy!

Phones, laptops and PS4s,
Why would they want to step outdoors?

Will they let go of their devices,
And take no notice of the ending crisis?

Is this our future, the socially anti-social one,
Where we don’t even walk, forget run?

The future’s in our hands, here’s our chance,
To change our world, let’s take a stance!
