The World Through My Eyes

Written By Ayanna Raj (Grade 9)

I put on my rose tinted glasses and I see,
What I think the world is meant to be.

Bright green leaves everywhere,
I can smell the fresh, non polluted air.

Everyone is caring and kind,
No one is ever left behind.

There is love and kindness in everyone,
And friendships that shine brighter than the sun.

Nature is flourishing and the Earth is healthy,
There is no poverty and everyone is wealthy.

The Ozone doesn’t have a hole, the ice caps aren’t melting,
The seas are clean, and climate change is not a thing.

Animals aren’t dying, Humans are safe,
The world is a secure place.

There are no unjust politics, there is no black money,
There is no crime, there is no robbery.

There is no discrimination of gender or race,
The colour of your skin can’t bring you disgrace.

I take off my glasses and don’t like what I see,
I guess the world is not what I think it is meant to be.
