What Green Means To Me?

Written By Arwa Rampurawala (Grade 8)

When I think of green,
I think of fresh grass swaying with the wind as I walk across the field,
The soles of my feet a tad bit damp with dew.

When I think of green,
I think of happiness and energy jolting through me
As I carry on with day’s work.

When I think of green,
I think of all the people in my life,
Green with envy at all my joys.

When I think of green,
I think of those endless hours
Sitting in the car waiting for the signals to turn green,
So we could lurch forward again,
Leave our troubles behind.

But oh lovely it would be if the earth too would be green,
Of smoke and pollution it would be free!
